The Sign Up Page

Just a complain about plentiful websites:

1) If you have a super yummy looking website - can you NOT make user sign up just to see the website content. Or you could just do "gimme your email" and do your email blasting. Whats the point of having user sign-ups - making us provide username, password, and whatever -asdflkdj;ajfksfj- details.

The thing is, if we finally were INTERESTED in checking out carts from your website: you then ask for the long and naggy details, and do your data-mining. Not that the first part isn't important, but hey I had for a few times closed website that ask me for too much details just to get a sneak glance at "whatchugot". Its damn annoying. You chased potentials away :p

2) If you want a sign up function so much.... so much that you must ask them for a password...Can you make your password design less restrictive. I get a headache for these

X: "Your password is less than 6 character" - fine enough...types again
X: "Your password must contain 1 alphabet 1 number" zzz... types again
X: "Your password cannot contain nonalphanumeric characters" >(....
X: "Your password must contain an upper case letter" @#$@#$@#@%

Lol, imagine how many password must I come up for each different website with different request of password. Yeah, the more restrictive it is, the easier for me to forget and the more for me to be annoyed. why would I wanna sign up. ;p just right click, disable your javascript and surf the shop (IF possible)

Z why bother restricting user to their favourite password with so many dumb rules: You make your password mechanism safe - cos if anything cracks at your server side, it doesn't matter how good your password is. ;P.

So I have stories from school competition - designing a super system and a super encrypted with blah blah blah blah mechanism of a login site - just right at demo: they fail at their log in page. >.>
